You are probably already aware that rats are not the cleanliest of creatures that could be living in your house.

No matter the reason as soon as you know there is a dead rat in your walls or attic you need to find it and remove it. There are dozens of flies in my apartment and a bad smell that i can t pinpoint. Assuming garbage management is not a problem the next best guess is an animal carcass somewhere in your wall voids attic or some other unfrequented or inaccessible part of your home. Look for the signs such as droppings footprints dead mice nesting debris noise grease marks or gnaw marks in your attic. For inaccessible areas like inside the wall in the floor or in the ceiling you might need more effort to figure out how to get access to the carcass.
