Curved Sheet Metal Solidworks

A quick tour and introduction using the solidworks sheet metal sketch bend feature.

Under bend edges select the model edges that will form bends. Sheet metal parts are generally used as enclosures for components or to provide support to other components. Select keep body if you want to keep the solid body to use in another convert to sheet metal feature. I have a curved sheet metal part that i need to add a flange that follows the curved sheet metal.

Set the sheet thickness and default bend radius. You can design a sheet metal part on its own without any references to the parts it will enclose you can design the part in the context of an assembly that contains the enclosed components or you can design the part within another part document in a multibody environment. When cleared the body is consumed by the convert to sheet metal feature.
